Auto-Updater
Module and New Title Documents
for Standard Conveyancer
With
the link below, Standard Conveyancer users can download and
install our new Auto-Updater Module.
The
Auto-Updater will keep Standard's Support & Maintenance
Plan clients up to date with the latest program and document
updates by searching our Web site once per day for updates.
It automatically downloads updates in the background for you
while you continue to work.
The
Auto-Updater represents a great advance over distributing updates
by individual Web site downloads that you run yourself (which
in turn was an advance over updating by CD-ROM or Remote Service
Connection).
The
first updates you will get through the Auto-Updater Module will
be the updated (ALTA 2006) title insurance document packages,
new IRS forms, and revised documents to meet the new rules for
recording in Massachusetts. All title insurance state packages
that were approved for distribution as of Friday, December 28th
are available for through the Auto-Updater. The remaining packages
will be made available in the coming days as they are approved.
System
Requirements for
the Auto-Updater
and New Title Packages:
- Standard
Conveyancer version 10.20.6 (click Help, then
About, then About Standard Conveyancer)
- Standard
Conveyancer/Microsoft Word Compatibility (please call
if you have not yet upgraded to MS Word compatibility)
- MS
Windows 98, 2000 or XP operating system (please call for Windows
Vista installation assistance)
- Persistent
Internet connection that becomes active on computer
startup
(Standard
HUD & Title users - do not download this program!
Standard HUD & Title has its own, separate updating program.)
The
AutoUpdater needs to be installed on only one workstation
in your Standard Conveyancer network. If this workstation is
ever retired from Standard Conveyancer usage, another workstation
in your office will need to have the Auto-Updater installed.
How
to Meet to the System Requirements:
To
run the Auto-Updater and to merge the new title policy documents,
your Standard Conveyancer needs to be at version 10.20.6,
and set up to merge with MS Word.
You
can quickly update to 10.20.6 from any version between
10.20 and 10.20.5. In Standard Conveyancer, click Help,
then SC on the Web, then Check for Web Updates.
To
update to 10.20 from an older Standard Conveyancer version (9,
10, 10.1, 10.3, or 10.31), you need to run your 10.20 Update
CD. From version 10.20, you will then be able to complete
your update to 10.20.6 in one step through our Check for
Web Updates system.
If
you can not locate your 10.20 Update CD or if something is preventing
you from installing it, it is imperative that you contact
us right away for help or for a replacement disk.
Any
office not yet upgraded to merge documents with Microsoft Word
has been contacted already about this issue. If you have not
